Headliner replacement 96
I bought my kit from MA, consisting of ample foam backed material and special headliner adhesive (spray**).
My original headliner foam padding was in great shape, and I opted to leave it in place. (I thought about removing it and wrapping the new material over it, but saw no point or advantage to risk tearing it up accidentally.)
So, after removing the old, dried adhesive from the foam pad (which came right off with some elbow grease and a terrycloth rag) I simply "cut and tucked" and laid the new liner over over fresh (headliner) adhesive.
One tool, besides an exacto knife (with a couple new blades) that I wished I had was one of those thin plastic spreaders like they use to work fiberglass (Brett put me onto them...after the fact). I used a thin putty knife to tuck the material under the edges, and it was too sharp, as it wanted to go through the material at the corners of the putty knife, if I wasn't very careful.
Of all the things to reupholster in a car, the C4 headliner was about the easiest thing I've ever done: took about 2 hours while having a brewski and watching a video in my livingroom. It came out looking poifect!
