As far as it being worth it, that depends on you really. It could benefit you if there is an "incident" while driving and you will have video documentation, on the other hand, it could go against you as well.
There are a number of windshield mount "dash cams" that you can choose from. They are small and unobtrusive, such as ITB 100HD, Blackvue, Finevue, etc. I'm a moderator on another forum which many of us run dash cams. Here is a link to a section dedicated to cams: http://www.radardetectorforum.org/fo...play.php?f=132
Here you can read about peoples personal experiences with them and their thoughts on different brands.
Thanks and I appreciate the info. But wrong cam, I was referencing a performance cam shaft. But you never know, a dash can might be fun. I have a backup cam on my 4x4 that I can engage while driving, interesting to watch the road behind you while driving...

This has got to be one of the funniest threads I've read on here in a long time. Thanks for the laugh!
Depends on what you are trying to do. Maybe if you are looking for low end torque. Usually you need to do a lot of other things first, such as intake and exhaust. And yes, its a fairly major job.
One of the first questions is do you have to pass SMOG in your state....where ever you are???
As noted above, what are your goals. Going to use the stock block? Machine the block first or use the block as it is?
Another thing you will have to research, is when you change the cam you will need a new tune. Do you have someone close that can tune the car and burn a new chip????

One or two questions.... Is it worth the trouble to install a cam in a 1985 Vette? Anybody do it and how did it turn out? What kind of cam?
Unless you're planning on spending a lot of cash on a new, higher flow intake & injectors, heads & computer work, just a cam change isn't going to make a real big difference.
I put in a different 350 into my 85 (slightly better heads) and a CompCam 268H cam, (218@.050, .454, 110lsa) siamesed the tpi base, opened up the plenum, 24lb/hr injectors, adjustable fuel regulator, custom chip, and a 58mm t.b.
It did have very good low end tq, but the fun was over at about 4,500rpm. It was a little more powerful, but not amazingly so. (or worth the $$)
But it was fun doing it.
are you are going to install the cam with the engine in the car ?
if so its a lot of work, and if you don't have the workshop equipment or knowledge then you will have to pay someone to do it, so expect $200 worth of cam and lifters to cost $500 in labour, and that's if you pull everything out the way first (waterpump, radiator etc)
