From the FSM 86 verts never had speakers in the dash pads...Well some how my garage find did...pulled dash apart, monkey rigged wiring to two bose add on speakers up there...black tape an twist together wiring...oh joy, My question is did they ever put 6 in???Springs coming ....just needed to pull pad for fog lamp switch...what a pain...I'm open ....I love BUBBA wiring...lol...thanks

The standard Delco radio has two speakers in the dash pad and none in the doors.

The Bose option has no speakers in the dash pad and one in each door.

The pad may have been replaced over the years (they tend to crack). Bose speakers require amps .Probably didn't work,

For a 86 vert, I was surprised at how well the interior looked. Minor wear on drivers seat. Its been up on jack stands since moving into my shop for fluid check and changes, an careful looking over. Getting cabin fever from this winter that won't go away. Thought I'd fix the radio till I found the surprise wiring...Might have my hands full, lol I hate "Bubba" wiring...thanks for you're post...Calling for another 10" of snow today, should have plenty of time till spring...HA

Yea it was a hack job, lil tweeters installed on A pillar...wires were cut. Know why fuse was in console...1 step at a time, fix antenna, work my way forward...Thanks for post
