Default Uk rear lights

Hi, does anyone know what colour wires need cutting/joining to change my rear lights to uk use? The two outer lights are amber but come on with brake lights but also flash when indicate. These have been altered by previous owner as the wires are cut. But are not right. So I need to start from scratch.thanks. This is a 1992 c4

So you have 2 outer ambers, 2 inner reds and all four are activated when the brake is applied? With "NO BRAKE" applied and the turn indicator to left or right what "flashes"? I believe I understand what needs done and it will have to do with what was done so far. With brake applied does the CHMSL (center brake) work as needed illuminating only when the brake is applied?

Do you have a FSM?

Are the ambers used only for turn? Do the red work as required when just the lights are on with no brake applied?

Yes ambers used for turn only. Turn lights on and the reds work as they should .when you apply brakes they all illuminate .centre one aswell. No fsm. Thanks

Is this car a coupe or a 'vert? Do you have a test light and familiar with it's use?

I can't help you I'm afraid, but I am in the UK in Devon, and would be happy to compare notes if you're anywhere near me. My '93 convertible has extra rear indicators. they are mounted under the 4 brake lights, and match the high-level brake-light. Looks better than it sounds!

Found this photo of the rear lights - very shaded, so I've brightened it a bit. I hope you can see. Quite a neat solution, I think (just as well. It was done by previous owner!!).
Shame you're so far away. There's not many Corvettes down here in Devon......

The CHMSL isn't required for UK MOT inspections and the CHMSL was replaced in EXPORT cars with the 1 "rear fog" that IS required. I don't know specifically about "maddogwyatt" particular car but that is the way it was done. I believe only '94+ cars. I've never seen it from GM on any earlier than '94. It would have been easy to add. It also called for the correct 21W bulb. That I believe satisfies MOT.

The amber turns would be easily accomplished but from another application and maybe not even a GM. It would be interesting if "maddogwyatt" posted the information that is cast into the amber turns on his particular car. It's very clean and for sure attractive.

I have an EXPORT harness that is wired correctly for the "rear fog" in a '94+ application.

I believe that "madogwyatt" has a '93 car. Don't know for sure. It's also difficult to tell on his car but if the CHMSL was used for the "rear fog" it also got a bezel. His very well could be just the CHMSL and he maybe doesn't usually run the "rear fog". I understand you can stretch that.

Also I don't believe the UK requires back-up lamps so either replacing them with an appropriate lamp OR adding a red LED I understand has been done and might satisfy MOT.

I fitted one after the photo was taken, ready for my first MOT with the car. I fiitted it centrally under the rear valance, using the spare wheel carrier rather than drill a hole. God knows how it passed before, because the front sidelights were still yellow!! I got round that when I fitted Hella headlights with H4 halogen bulbs. They have sidelights in them, and I made a little loom for each (carefully attached so they don't pull or catch when the lights rotate) and rewired to that. Got the lights from Keith at Eurovettes. He's a star!
