I met the owner of this car at Funfest and took some pics. He did the work himself. His business is Kustom Dezigns in Kokomo, IN.
The business phone number I got off the internet is 765-868-9373.
If I recall, he got the idea on how to do the car directly from Mike Yeager at Mid America Design and copied it from one of Mike's Challenge cars.
He is on the boards here and goes by SCCA Vette
I had a few requests to do updated challenge car graphics about the same time but ended up only having the time to get this one set done. I thought I had more logos and sizes. I'll have to check my drive at home when I get a chance to make sure this is the most up-to-date PDF.
I really enjoyed doing stuff for the challenge cars when I could.

I really appreciate the vector graphics!!! I've been working to replace my decals on my '88 - I purchased a vinyl cutter to allow me the flexibility to put on a set now, then replace them if I paint the car next year.

I am glad you responded to my call out for challenge parts and information. My car is a black 89 unconverted car and I will be glad to get you the last 5 of the vin tomorrow. Speaking of red cars , I actually bought a red unconverted car in Atlanta and my partner at the time fooled me out of the car and that's when I learned what challenge cars really were. I bought that red car at a salvage sale called Sadisco of Atlanta. I brought it home on my rollback and not paying any attention he asked me what I would take for it and me being the nice guy I am told him just to give me what I had in it. At the time it was just any old 89 vetted with a 6 speed and cloth seats. A coupe at that. So word got around that my partner Ronnie bought this rare race car and it finally got back to me. So I asked him and he admitted that he checked the vin of this car and he had a list of vins that were considered challenge cars. So I copied his list and sure enough I was at a auction in Palmetto , FL a coule years later and I ran into this black 89 coupe w 6 speed , select ride control, and cloth seats and I went back to my rollback where I shoved this list I copied years ago after I got ripped off by my partner on the red one and sure enough this car was one too. I somehow ran into a second challenge car. And of course I purchased it. I ended up selling it to a guy named Robert Mecker and his wife who listed it in the registry. Then years later I ended up trading a SUV for the challenge car back and he supposedly registered me on some challenge car registry. I remember I was in Carlisle one year and they had a challenge car reunion. Did you actually have your car at that time and did you attend that??? My name is Phil Vollrath and I don't mind getting you the last 5 of my vin when I go to my shop tomorrow. My cell phone number is 813-285-0221 and I live in Apollo Beach, FL which is right outside TAMPA. Where are you actually from?? So I will look forward to hearing back from you and I will message you back that vin number. I'm really excited to talk to someone that knows more about these cars. I'm interested in restoring this car and would like to know would it be worth more restored to the condition that it came from the factory or would it be worth more converted to the actual race car it was in line to be built but obviously never did? Have a good night. Talk to you soon. , Philip

I took pics of most of the Challenge cars at Carlisle 2009. If you shoot me a PM with your e-mail and let me know which car you are interested in then I will send you what I have.
This is black #58:

I know Robert and Sally Mecker well. Really nice folks. I've had an unconverted Challenge car and now own a raced version, the 1988 #98 car raced by Stu Hayner. I have templates of most 88 and 89 graphics. Brett Richmond can also help you out.
