There are a number of posts on here on removing the oil pan. From my memory, make sure you remove the oil level sensor from the side of the pan. You will also have to remove the oil filter adaptor, starter and flywheel dust cover. You will need various extensions with swivel joints and 3-4 different sized sockets. You don't really need to break loose motor mounts and lift the engine, but you may have to turn the crank to get it out of the way.
This can be done in about 2 hours....if you are like me, you need to give yourself 4-6 hours.
Finally, if you plan on changing your plug wires. This is a great time to do it. With the oil pan off, you will have access to the Optispark from below.
