I did something yesterday on the way home that reminded me of you. :D
I did a rolling clutch dump at about 10mph and then power shifted into 2nd....of course slipping and sliding the whole way to the point that I had to lift when 2nd wouldn't bite.
I get home and my Goodyear GSC's are peppered with little white bits of street granules, etc. that are sticking to the rubber. The rubber was even tacky to the touch like a good drag radial would be. I remember when you had your first LT4 and swore by the traction qualities of the harder Goodyear GSC's, but this was the first time that I was able to notice just how soft they can get if you really hit 'em hard a couple times....  :D
Good man! Glad you are giving your car some exercise!
Yep, those Goodyear GSC's have excellent straight line acceleration qualities, cold or hot, which is why (out of all the tires) I put new 315 GSCs on again last year.
Now... the cool thing is to get the car fishtailing when you powershift into 3rd gear (around 80mph) you can do it!

 Too many curbs in my neck of the woods to try that! Too bad I don't have open access to an airport runway or something....I'd be all over that in a heartbeat!

Dean,
come on down to Irwindale on a Thursday evening. You have to hit third just before the end of the 1/8th.
I can powershift into 3rd, I go sideways if I try it going into 2nd.

Where are they racing in Irwindale? The only track in Irwindale I recall was a six lane blacktop in a commercial district that was the illegal drag strip in the area. Of course, this was over 15 years ago, too.
