Converting a 93 to 134a. So I can eliminate the adapter on the accumulator charging port I'm thinking putting a 96 accumulator and hose. The 96 hose has the proper fitting for 134a so no adapter needed. Anyone know if the connections are the same and if this is doable?

Thanks

Hi

There are R12 to R134A adaptors that screw onto the R12 port, 1x for low side (blue) and one for the high side (red)

Sounds like it would work, but I don't know first hand.

If you not changing any componets Id just switch to R12 subistitue.

Not compatible. Threads changed from SAE to metric when the 134 changeover occurred for the 1994 MY.

You should look into a compressor oil change too, the R-12 system uses mineral oil and the R-134 refrigerant is to be used with polyester oil.

My '87 uses an r-12 hose kit because it needed a right angle fitting that has to be special ordered for 134.
