Default The Truth About The 1983 C4

Some lies are hard to kill. Consider some of these whopper cockroaches: “This is the most highly evolved generation in history.” “I did not have sexual relations with that woman.” “The check is in the mail.” “The lunar landings were an elaborate hoax filmed in sound stage.” “If you sail west, you'll fall off the edge of the earth.” “If you don’t stop that, you’ll go blind.” But in my estimation, the greatest lie ever told is propaganda regarding the disappearance of the 1983 C4 Corvette.

For decades we have been told the lie that “Quality and production problems had delayed introduction of the new C4 generation so 1983 was passed over. 44 1983 cars were assembled. Some were used to sort out production details while others were assigned to engineering evaluation and crash testing.... 43 of the 44 1983 C4 Corvettes were destroyed. The one remaining car, number 23 (white), was retired to the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green KY where it is now on display. It is still owned by GM.” (accepted Press Release)

Perhaps you’ve heard the version of the story which included the twist which blames California’s strict new emissions laws for which General Motors was ill-prepared.

Let me be the first to tell you, all of this is a bald-faced lie, classic absurdity, poppycock, hog-wash, drivel and twaddle. It’s as though it were a pure invention promulgated by none other than Henry Ford himself artificially disseminated by the reclusive Heimlich Wikipedia. In the next few paragraphs, I am going to tell you the truth about the 1983 C4 Corvette. I am prepared to back up my statements with photographic proof if called upon to do so. But please know that I disclose this information at the risk of my own peril and the personal safety of my family members. Others who have passed this information to me have mysteriously disappeared and can no longer be called upon for collaboration. But for the greater good of Corvette enthusiasts and humanity at large, I am humbly prepared to pay even with my life so that you may finally know the truth about the 1983 C4 Corvette.

Recognized as the third most significant Detroit artist of the 20th Century for his life’s work, Harley Earl was a man who was under-rated and under-appreciated. Just some of the masterpieces for which he is recognized were Tom Mix’s Custom built car, the tail fin and...The Corvette. Mr. Earl was the originator of the practice of committing concept cars to clay models, giving the new ideas a three dimensional aspect which drawings on paper alone could not capture.

It was late in the fall of 1974 in the GM office of engineer David McLellan. David had an old Harley Earl Clay concept Model of the 1954 GM Firebird. He kept it on the shelf as a book-end collecting dust. But on this particular day it was disheveled, fell to the floor, breaking into a million pieces. It seemed like a tragic loss of history. I’ve heard it said, “Every ill wind blows some good.” And so it was as Mr. McLellan stooped to pick up the pieces, he realized that there was a document inside, tucked away in one of Harley Earl’s last and most imaginative designs. What he deciphered from the manuscript he determined was knowledge, not of this world and not of our time – Harley Earl’s vision for a new Corvette the C4.

Mr. McLellan had a tiger tale. What should you do with such wonderful, powerful information? Harley Earl had died of a stroke some years earlier so the document could not be returned to him. It was in McLellan’s hands now and it was a sacred trust.

I have noted that the knowledge enclosed in this new design was “not of this world and not of our time”. From here some might expect me try to peddle a bill of goods like: Harley Earl was visited by space aliens, or he was a space alien himself, some lunatic might try to tell you Harley Earl was some sort of an apparition or even a Christophany. But I am not some hair-brained, wild-eye conspiracy theorist. My only interest is to lead you to the truth about the 1983 C4 Corvette by taking you step by step through the concrete facts.

Immediately, David McLellan saw the fresh information now in his hands as the gift for which it was. My experiences have taught me it is a most unwise move ever to discount the Supernatural from life’s equation. I will let the reader quietly contemplate the origin of this gift and draw his or her own conclusions.

McLellan didn’t mention a word of his find to anyone for days. But by the weekend, he knew what he would do. Artist renderings for the C4 were already well underway. It was rumored that he would soon be out front in charge of the project. He decided no single individual should or would take credit for any of the new engine management, suspension, braking, collision control or cockpit convenience systems which were all to be controlled by a single powerful computer. He would seed information here and there, many times surreptitiously in various brief cases, desk drawers and drawing boards. The information oozed out so slowly, it seemed almost natural. Yet those through whom it oozed back through were wise enough to keep their mouths shut about it since they knew these were not really their own original concepts. Nobody other than McLellan knew how the whole brilliant puzzle would fit together. Truth be told, prior to the cranking of the first C4 engine, McLellan being unfamiliar with the new concepts and the new principles of physics introduced in these plans, he wasn’t certain, once together if the car would really run.

For decades now you have been told there were only 44 1983 C4 Corvettes assembled in Bowling Green Kentucky the Summer of 1982, and that the process was riddled with production problems and delays. But that is what the powerful say you must believe. I say, “Question everything!” The truth is there were hundreds of cars produced and operations were running incredibly smooth. That is until....

What were you doing the summer of 1982? I was touring with my Rock Band and killin’ time with the girl whom I would later marry by a lake in South Carolina. I wasn’t watching the news. But had I been, I would have noticed significant power shifts, major and unsettling movements in the Cold-War. The dust up in the Falkland Island was not the last gasp of Great Brittan’s colonialistic idealism. The outcome of this battle had implications which dwarfed the nuclear missiles crisis in Cuba back from the 1960s. The whole of that story may never be told. In the USSR, Leonid Brezhnev is murdered by the supporters of Yuri Andropov. If is not until late in the fall it is reported he has died due to complications from a head-cold. The truth is those who held power in that nation wished to take a very hard line with the United States for the purpose of bringing this Cold-War to and end very decisively, cruelly and completely through whatever means necessary.

This was the global political climate, really unknown to the regular folks in the world, the day the yet unnamed government agency stormed the plant in Bowling Green. Simultaneously, there was a team in business suits taking over several floors of the GM Building in Detroit. Top GM executives were escorted to the airport where Jets had turbine fan spinning, waiting to make the quick trip to the seclusion of Bowling Green.

Once the audience was captive, government officials described their great concerns about the 1983 C4 Corvette and its fantastic leap in technological advance. With tacit and cryptic threat they stated their intention to discover the true source of this new knowledge. But what needed to be accomplished on that day was every single 1983 C4 on the line, on the lot, everywhere, every car, had to take a ride. They confiscated every drawing, every plan, every hint of the technology which went into this new car. Where did the cars go? They were loaded into transports and no one has seen them since. Except for the one Ronald Reagan was quite fond of which he kept at Camp David. I have a photo of that car on an encrypted hard-drive somewhere. It remained there at Camp David until Barack Obama had it destroyed and symbolically replaced it with a Toyota FT-EV II. The car in the Museum and the story behind it of course is fraudulent.

The timing of world events should never escape the learned observer. It was March 23, 1983; President Ronald Regan unveiled an incredible new defensive system which any idiot could see was an offensive threat as well. It was called the Strategic Defense Initiative (STI). Regan’s critics mocked him. They renamed it “Star Wars”. I will not elaborate in description of this system. But for our purpose, some details must be lifted. 1) The threat of this system broke the back of the Soviet Union which led to the end of the “Cold War”. 2) Critics mocked the whole idea calling it impossible based upon their presumption we did not have the technology to build it. But on this point I assert the technology came out of Bowling Green, through the hands of David McLellan, from the pen of Harley Earl, out of the mind of ?

How do you keep such a thing a secret for so many years? In the Eastern Block, you put people in the Gulags and tell them “Work makes them free!” But we know this only succeeds in creating very angry enemies to the cause who when given voice will tell everyone everything they know. In our nation, we use other tactics. What tactic did the Government use to keep people quiet? In the 1980s, it was the carrot and the stick. Recently we have learned our nation has pretty much done away with the carrot and just made the stick bigger. But as the leaves were beginning to turn in Bowling Green in 1982, Government officials offered fantastic and lucrative incentives which were easily revocable, at the same time promising continued IRS involvement tn their personal and corporate financial affairs from now until Kingdom comes.

Needless to say the Corvette folks and GM as a whole were caught completely flat footed. The very best they could do was to delay production a solid year, take the shell of the 83 and drop the internals, engine, transmission, fuel delivery (Cross-Fire), computer from the 82 car into the 83. That is very much how the 1984 C4 appeared. From there the engineers scrambled to develop the Tune Port System which appeared in the 1985 C4 Corvette.

On February 12, 2014, 5:45 am in Bowling Green Kentucky...Bla Bla Bla. Every enthusiast knows the story. But what you know is what the people with the power are demanding you to believe. I say, “Question everything!” Do not be so naive as to think the tragedy which claimed 8 cars, 4 of which are C4s has nothing to do with the disclosure of these new facts I am sharing with you now.

I am not one to foist myself or my knowledge upon those who are unwilling or unable to accept the truths therein. A wise man once said, “Do not cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces.” There is much more of this story to tell if there are those who have ears to hear.

Go away N0ob. I take it you have never read Dave McLellan's book? Or even listened to him in seminars or talked with him?

Or maybe it is an April Fool's prank. Certainly reads like a cut and paste article from some idiot.

Actually c4cruiser, I have been a member for quite some time. Some may call this screen name cowardice, yet an equal number might call it cautious due the sensitive nature of the subject matter. I cannot help it that you apparently choose to number yourself among the swine who want to trample these pearls. Some people just can’t handle the truth so they hide their heads in the sand.

I have heard of this...supposedly why the C5 has a wide *** is because of the "prison style" smuggling...
