OHMS for the 1985 a/c compressor that was used? Trying to see if there is a bad winding in a compressor and dont have my service manual handy and asking my girlfriend to look it up at home is like looking for a pin in a haystack.

why not just upgrade it to a 88-96 compressor and be done and have a better compressor anyways.

I believe 3 - 5 is considered OK, less than or more than is NOT. I believe those values are considered realistic for most all coils on most any automotive compressor.

There's absolutely no need to replace with anything other than the R4. I can't imagine it even being suggested. That would be a tremendous undertaking. Silly!

why would it be so hard? just change bracket and compressor and lines. The newer compressor is far more efficient and 134 happy.

Its not so much that its hard, it could be that its 3 times the work and 3 times the money. All for the same cooling as before. No thanks.
