Center console lamp

Anyone elses center console lamp literally burn up!?!

Yep, that's identical to what happened to mine after fitting a repro lid from Corvette Central and accidentally leaving the lid open for 10 minutes after I plugged in the feed wire.

I immediately changed the bulb for a low heat LED to avoid setting the car on fire the next time it gets left open.

These are either fitted with too high a wattage bulbs or the plastic lens is low heat plastic. Dam sham after paying out the bucks for a new lid to have this melted lens.

Glad Im not the only one. What LED bulb did you use? I checked the wiring and put a new bulb in but Im not feeling too confident after seeing that.
