I'm 72 (73 next month). I bought my '86 new when I was 44. Back then I thought most of the Corvette owners were my age or older.
I have no plans to sell any of my Corvettes anytime soon. Having too much fun yet.
I was 49 years young when I bought my first Vette two years ago, the one in my avatar. When I drive it, I feel 15, which is the age drove my first one ('66 327/300 4-speed vert) and the love affair began.
I am 67 and bought my first one last year. I have always wanted one and life is way to short so I bought a 1990 convertible 6 speed from a friend who was moving to San Diego.
I may not be the oldest owner but I may have wanted one longer than most. Saw my first Vette at 5 and fell in love with them. Tried to buy three over the years and something always got in the way. Finally bought one 1 day short of my 64th birthday.
It is as fun as I thought it'd be! And I don't even have to worry about the wife driving it, it's a manual tranny and she's never been behind one in her life. It's my toy and it's going to stay that way
Here we go again, I don't want to win this contest but I probably will. I will be 77 on September 2, 76 at the present time. I am normally a very happy C-4 owner but it looks like the auto tranny on my 90 coupe has taken a dump. The shifting has gone all to hell and it looks like a big bill is on the way. Oh well, life sucks sometimes. However the Quasar blue beauty is as purty as ever and I will get it back on the road as soon as possible.

Well since you all know how old I am I will comment on the tranny. The tech that worked on my car years ago answered my phone call, although he is retired he is interested enough to tell me to call him and let him know how things are going. What I want from him is some good advice that maybe he can steer me to a transmission garage that wont rip me off. All I want is good old fashion honest work for a honest repair bill. If I can get that I will be a happy camper. Good weather is finally here and I want the 90 coupe to be rolling again. After all, time is short for all of us. Happy C-4 driving.
I know a lot of you guys and girls are young on the forum.. But I wonder who is the oldest C4 owner on the Corvette forum. I am 65 and bought my first Corvette at 58. Can anybody beat that?
got my first at 60 and now be 61 this year got me another one first was 84 now got 87 also
Memo to Allentown: You seek honest work? Send your tranny to the Kramer Motor Co., Shelbyville IN, where Gary, Jack and Cory, 3 best tranny mechanics anywhere, hold forth. Yep, it's my son's shop. I'm soon to be 75, but feel like 19 when I collapse into the seat of the mint '84 I bought two years ago. Showed 33k miles at the time. Now has 40k. I favor the '84 -- Year One of the C4 era. Seems the least I can do out of respect to the enginers and BG plant people who went thru hell in '82 and '83 to make the build process work.

Ernie so far your tops, numbers dont matter its how you feel and act and seems like your doing just fine.
I wood love to see that 348 in the Vega, I seen one in a C-1 once, good way to weigh down your front end.
A 348 is a 400 block with a 327 crank, and not the old early 60's boat anchor. Sorry for the confusion. The swap was quite popular at the time, and my first of many money pits.
