This oil temperature warning appeared when I fired up my '93 yesterday (from cold). The oil pressure seemed normal, but I can't check the temperature since both the oil and coolant temp gauges died (any ideas?). So I took her for a careful drive, during which the oil pressure stayed as expected, and all seemed well. Is this a random glitch that I can reset (like the "Change Oil" warning)?
The picture you posted does not show any "warning".
It shows that you have your digital display set to display your oil temp and it is reading 46°F
Which could be about right at start up, depending on outside ambient temps.
Am I missing something?

Warning lamps are located either in the driver information center (DIC) or around the perimeter of the driver's dash display area where the seat belt and e-brake warning lamps are located.

I had no idea the dash could do that. I do feel a fool !! I only have a PDF handbook and a Haynes manual, neither of which mention it. Thanks very much for your help.

That Haynes manual just doesn't cover what you really need.
There are just too many changes made during the entire production run of the C4.
If your going to work on your car, you need to get the factory service manual for your year.
Thanks guys, I have the owner's manual as a PDF, but didn't see it when I looked. Maybe I should have done the man thing - ignore the manual, and push buttons to see what happens!!
