Whats up guys

I am new to this forum, and I have some questions please. I am looking to buy a C-4, auto. I dont what year is best for modding. I am thinking of changing the engine to a big block or a 383 stroker. Please any info on the best year to buy would be appreciated. Thanx

you should take a look at interiors as they changed in the early C4s. 84-89 were digital wonders while 90 and up became very modern looking (for car interiors). The exteriors are different in the 84-90 front and rear facias from 91-96.
The newer the car the less likely of having to replace regular wear and tear stuff.
Both the L98 and the LS1 can be pumped up. It all depends on ones pocket book or expertise.
A lot of guys have pumped their engines up on the forum and also have done engine swaps.
Good luck.

Basic advice-buy the latest one you can afford. As the years went on, GM kept improving the C4 till they perfected it in 1996 and canned it for the C5.

There are quite a few guys here with 383's in various years.

Depending on what you consider high miles, I would say $14,500 at the most.

My '95 has 106,000 miles on it and she's almost broken in. I consider that low mileage. My '93 has 39,000 miles, it's hardly been driven, but I'm changing that.

Just for an example, I bought my '93 with 36,000 back in December and paid $15,500. My '95 I bought back in '99 with 57,000 miles for $22,000.

If you believe the Blue Book(which I don't) my '95 is worth about $11,000, but to look at the car, you'd never guess it had over 100,000 miles.

Define high mileage. In Texas the '94-'96s with 90k or more are in the low teens.
