Polished the fog/driving lights. I have the bumpers off , so I figured I might as well clean these up now instead of after the bumpers are back on.

Perhaps consider installing LED lights in there if you haven't already done so

I replaced the thermostat on my 85. Just got the car and trying to diagnose an overheating problem. This is the first thing I've done to the car, other than the oil change immediately after picking it up.

Perhaps use a torch and heat up the outer area of the bolt. Not too much heat though.

One of the things you may want to do is heat and alternately cool the bolt. If torch heating is impractical, you can try a soldering gun or iron and then try rapidly cooling it with something like CRC Freeze Off. Try doing that a few times and maybe it will help you break it loose. Good luck.

The paint codes for your Vette should be on the RPO code doc. under the console lid.
The seats I have now are not originally from my car (a 1985 Vette) so I don't have the correct color code.

Sorry, I missed that in your earlier post.

Eckler's has a color chart in the front of their new catalog. The only gray color code listed is for '88-'89 Gray Code 98.

Replaced 7 of 8 spark plugs. I haven't quite figured out how I'm going to get #8 replaced.

Looked at it lovingly through the windows as the sun glinted off of the freshly buff'ed and waxed surface...

Try a u-joint or a wobble extension on your socket wrench, you will need to experiment with some different lengths. And a short piece of fuel line hose will help you get the new plug started.

3/4 socket over the back end of a spark plug socket and you should be able to get it.

Finally a day without rain so got the brake fluid replaced on the "new" '89.

I use an open end wrench on #8, being mindful to not drop it onto the starter.

I took out my brake booster to mount the factory ecm.bracket and discovered my master cylinder is bad . I pulled out the vacuum lines that go to the cruise control . BTW is a 4+3 trans clutch slave cylinder different from the zf 6 speed ? The bracket I have hits it.😖

From the pics in my '88 & '89 ECMs the clutch MCs look very similar; not sure if in exactly same firewall location though.

Made some progress on touching up copla large (dime-quarter) clam corner paint chips. Little more color and time for the clear.

Repaired my blank LCD panel on my 91. Removed guage pod, reseated the LCD connector a few times. Rebuilt and now all working fine
It had faded out a number of times over the years but usually came back on after a few miles. Went totally blank so had to investigate. Glad it seems to be a zero cost fix
