What did you do to your C4 today?

Safety Car
Showed the 86 in a charity car show today. Didn't win anything but then again I didn't expect to. Thought it would be a bust because it was raining early today but it quit before the show began and it was worth it to help the kids out.

Finalist 2020 C4 of the Year - Unmodified
Finally washed the wheels, mounted and brought Her to the floor after a month or so of dinking. New rotors and pads, new control arm bushings in the rear, replacement pads in the front (dang nasty dusters bye bye ), timing adjustment and TPS adjustment all complete.
And we Drove, we drove all..well, an hour or two.

I did get em bled this morning. I took the mc off and bench bled it again, then i was able to gravity bleed em.
I do now have a little drip on the back of the mc where it meets the brake booster which I didnlt have before.. I can't see if it's coming out of the weep hole of the booster or the back of the mc.
At the moment I'm assuming a bad mc out of the box, but not ruling out I have to swap out the booster too.
It's possible, probable even, that I got a bad mc out of the box. I bought it at pep boys versus NAPA, just because I didn't feel like crossing town. Next time I'll likely cross town for parts . Ha.
Anyway. I'm a day behind now, I was gonna install all of the weather stripping this evening since that came in, but now I'm just gonna relax, this humidity kills me.

Two reservoir grommets from a Cardone A1 rebuilt MC were bad out of the box. I replaced them with new ones from GM and no more leaks.

Advanced
I dropped mine off at my mechanic's so he can pull the transmission and have his trans guy rebuild it.
Good news is I gave a few lessons to my 17 yr old daughter since the trans and clutch were being done.

Yesterday I was getting something out of the rear and decided I have had enough of fighting the "lazy hatch". Got out my catalog from one of the big vendors and decided 2 new struts at $85 each would prevent a lot of cussing in the future. But before ordering I did a forum search here.
And guess what? I found that Monroe struts are just what the doctor ordered. 3:30PM yesterday I placed an order on Amazon, 2 struts plus NY sales tax () came to about $30, delivery tomorrow the 20th. How can you beat that?
Well, here's how. About noon UPS pulls up and hands me the struts TODAY. So they are now installed, and the hatch acts like it got a double dose of Viagra!
The only down side, if you can call it that, is that in replacing the struts, I found the 2 bum wires which are preventing the defroster from working. So I cross one thing off the "to do" list, and add another job to it! Oh well, that's what makes it fun I guess!

My factory seat belts started not releasing and thennot fully taking up slack so I had to replace them. I couldn't believe the price of new belts with the same poor design so bought some grey Securon ones here in the UK for £35ea. Decent brand and inertia reel like everything else here. Fitting was a bit frustrating, some masochist decided that torx should be used for the seat belt mounts from the factory! But I got them out in the end.

I like that style of seat belt, i hate the way mine work with the lock button and dual reels.
I like the type with a single reel, and where i can give the upper part a tug and tighten down the lap belt.
Pretty much like all modern seat belts use.

It was indeed a "warm day" up here too; had to lay down a sheet of cardboard to kneel on while working of LF brake...
Got the brake hose replaced though bleed was a little too difficult, IMO. Calipers is the next attempt to regain good brakes.

Finally got my CE back together!!!
Done with the timing cover set, Opti, water pump job. Also replaced the wires, plugs, coil, cleaned MAF, and replaced the vacuum lines to the Opti. (Both had melted through) Changed the oil and topped off all the fluids and put some miles on it.
And confirmed it does have an underdrive pulley on it....SMH.

I got sick of my car trying to kill me and put in some del-a-lum lower control arm bushings.
Huge improvement with the banski rear control arms!
Now I'm planning on the upper del-a-lum control arm bushings, and finishing the rear end with the complete banski kit!
The energy suspension bushings i installed last fall made the car nearly un-driveable as the car followed every line in the road.
Car seemed possessed, and tried to kill me often... lol
