I'm having problems starting my 93. I have changed wires, plugs, ignition coil, coil, fuel pressure regulator, fuel filter. fuel is getting to the rails but not past the injectors it appears. The only way it will start is with starter fluid and then it dies. I have 2 codes on the car 12 and 41. I know why i have the 12 because my digital dash needs to be replaced. Not sure about the 41. Does anyone have a solution???
I'm away from home so I don't have access to my bookmarks that show the error codes. There is an old thread on the Forum that listed all the error codes for 1984 to 1996, broken down by year.
12 is no distributor reference pulses. That means that the engine is not rotating and it is used as a delimiter for the other error codes.
41 is cylinder select error on my car. The meaning of the codes changed over the years and it might be different for your car. On my car error code 41 means that one or more of the ECM grounds are missing. I think you can also get this error if the MEMCAL is from a different car (4 or 6 cylinder).
I finally gave up and took my car to Primms Auto in Nashville. They found the problem with my car was in the ECM. The input on the ECM the controls the throttle body was not reading the sensor. I have sent the ECM in to be restored. Thanks gents
