Default 94 Starting issues

Need help with my 94 with 6 six speed. I've had the car a little over a year with no electrical issues. Went out to start the car turn the key and got nothing. I did notice that after trying to start and turned the key off the security light on the dash flashes 3 or 4 times. I'm thinking something to do with the VATS. Just not sure were to start. I've checked and jumped the neutral safety switch out. Also there wasn't any key FOBS When I purchased the car from the PO. Any help would be appreicated.

Try cleaning the pellet on the key with rubbing alcohol - or try another key.

I also have a 94 6 speed. The day I bought it I got in it, turned the key and nothing. I was like, oh no. Ultimately I used another key and worked like a champ. I cleaned the other and have never had any problem since!

Remember that if you get a VATS error from a dirty key or the wrong key, the system will go into to delay and wont start for at least 4 minutes, even with a good key.

Once there's an error, you have to wait at least 4 minutes before trying anything else.

Thanks for all the input. Went to the dealer to see about a new key, parts guy said he would check the key switch before buying a new key. There are two small wires that could have failed and if this is right I will have to get a new switch and then a new key to that switch. So I will have to do a little more research into the switch before I drop a much of money on a new switch and key.
