A couple of days ago, while my car was in the shop, It was placed right next to a 95-96 Torch Red Vette.
Mines a 92 so obviously its Bright Red.
The difference in color was great.
Torch Red has a more orange tint to it, while Bright Red doesn't.
Just seeing them next to each other, you could tell a major difference.
Personally I like Bright Red better, because i hate that orange tint Torch Red gets.
Anyone else notice this?
There is a big difference between the two. But if both cars are waxed and separated from eachother it becomes very hard to tell. Let me find some pictures to prove my point.
Pretty close if you ask me. Both paint jobs are original and kept up very well. They look the same.

I see no difference. Every picture I see, the Bright Red seems more orangy than the Torch Red. I know they're just pictures, and the human eye sees colors differently. Below you can see what I mean.
I found this picture. One's of my Torch Red, the other's a Bright Red 1990.

Re: Bright Red vs Torch Red? (ittlfly)
I didn't know there was a difference and I can't really tell in the pics. I'm going to make a point of finding a pair of red Vette's to compare next oppurtunity. :)
Torch Red is a bit too orangey for me. I cleaned a friend's '02 Z28 SS-SLP tonight. That Red is GORGEOUS. I looked at a lot of reds(before I changed to the blue) and that was on the top of the list IF I didn't go with blue. Red has to be bloody and bright to me, leave the orange O U T.
I just got back from the local WalMart and parked next to a bright red '90 Vert. WOW!! My '95 looked almost orange  compared to it. Too bad I didn't have my digcam with me or I'd have posted a pic.

No Problem.
I love torch red. It's fun to show some Torch Red C5er's that my paint is in better shape than theirs. And my paint is 9 years old. If it were a different red I couldn't rub it in:D.
IMO, Bright red is just so much better looking. It appears GM tries to satisfy 2 different crowds with Torch Red, those that want Red in the dark and shade, and those that want Orange in the sun light :p::p:
When people tell me why no orange vettes, I say, yea they do, its called torch red. :jester \

You are asking for it.:yesnod: :jester
Torch red must be better since C5's use it :p: :hat
