Default Corsa system - mileage increase

With my new Corsa system installed, my mileage has increased by 12.99% (if my math is correct). Based on a 30 mile round-trip taken regularly, my old mileage was a steady 17.7, and the new mileage is 20.0.

One of the benefits in the Corsa ad is "improved fuel economy", to
which I didn't pay much attention. I'm pleased. Doubles my Social
Security.

Sound is quite sophisticated.... just a mellow rumble... perfect for this old guy.

A cop tailed me just after leaving the muffler shop waiting for me to enter the freeway in hopes that i would 'wake the world' with my polished stainless hardware......... note was smooth as glass.... he quickly lost interest.

A 30 mile confirmation for "mileage"? C'mon.

Many years ago we had a fellow that was very **** about checking mileage on his new Rambler - we added 1 quart of fuel a day to the tank and he was a ravin' maniac telling everyone what a mileage getter it was. He thought he had an "experimental" carburetor and bothered the he!! out of the Rambler dealer to try to confirm there was something different with his car. I believe we took that quart away after maybe 2 1/2 months or so and then the **** flew.

He was told nearly a year later. I went to the service and wasn't around when he was told but I understand he never forgave a soul that was involved.

Maybe he was referring to a 30 mile round trip is his ROUTE...and he's gone through a tank doing it? Even so...1 tank isn't enough either.

But glad that you're liking the thing! It'll take a LOT of 3 mpg better tanks to pay for that system!

Reminds me of a golf story...... playing partner was extremely proud of his new professional bag that he carried (no cart). We played every morning, and I would add a small rock to the bag...... took him a while, but he finally caught on.

Yes..... 30 mile round trip.... average mpg went from 17.7 to 20.0. USING 'INSTANT AVERAGE'
(another week, and the system is paid for)

Corsa is a very nice exhaust. Have one on my 96 and it sounds awesome. And, most of the time when you add items that help the engine breathe better and produce more power, you can get better fuel economy if you drive easy. However, once you want to experience the increase in power, there will be a big decrease in economy.

Now, it seems my polished stainless hardware hanging off the rear-end attracts many other vehicles with modified exhausts to show me
how theirs sound as they rev and pass.

They want to hear you get on it and show them what you got. Sounds like street talk to me.

Never entered my mind....... thanks. They don't realize I'm 82, and I don't 'get on it' ...... just try to stay in my lane.

Congrats on the Corsa exhaust system Seabright ! Now that my LT1 is not back firing anymore I really want a new Corsa system for my triple black ! When I'm 82 I hope I'm as cool as you are. My Mom sold her convertible vette at 75 years old and now she wants another one.

Good for her..... my wife is 77... drives an '06 Mustang GT vert.
Her Mustang has a very nice exhaust note..... I'm very happy with the Corsa.

The only way a new cat back would improve light throttle MPG is if the old one was fully plugged. A higher DA w/warmer temps would easily make that much difference.
