was wondering if anyone had a ball park figure on what i should be able to get out of my 95 coupe..auto with almost 130,000 on the clock all dahs lights and gauges work well all outside lights and side markers work well oil changed every 3,000 miles. i had a set of 4 tires installed and i am in the process of putting the top header seal and the rear top seal on. i have two tops.. the see thru smoked top in nice condition and the red hardtop that needs to be repainted. the rear panel of my vette has clear coat issues on the back part behind the fuel door. in is a 8 out 10 and the outside 6 or 7 out of 10..just looking for a ballpark is all.my payoff is 2,000 and its all mine.
thanks

Your best bet for accurate figures are to use either kbb.com or nada.com and accurately rate your vehicle there, as you did here. They will give you realistic values for selling outright, trade-in, etc.
Why are people scared of stating numbers? The reality is that you're going to get few trade in offers over $3k (if that) unless you're trading way up. As for private sales, you can of course believe kbb etc & ask whatever they say. But barring the occasional idiot who pulls up to you asking if you want to sell your car & then shoots you an impressive number just to get your attention.............most hard offers are likely to be rather underwhelming & in the $5k range.
IMO.. if its clean, no CEL, and everything works I'd guess you could ask $7500 and then settle down to a price that is comfortable to you.
If things don't work and don't look nice price drops quickly in my book. It really depends on the buyer and how geeked they are.
I'm cool headed and looking for a solid ($) deal with any car I buy. Last yr I looked at two C4's. Both cars had over 100k on them. One was asking $11k w/$4k in new parts and I wound up getting him down to $8k. I passed because it had over 100k, just wasn't as clean as I like, and it needed tires & alignment. The other was asking $8,500 and the car looked neglected as well as needing the typical repairs. I passed on it and didn't even try to talk the guy down.
IMO with a C4 and 130k the buyer is someone looking for a driver not a clean toy.
I just bought this spotless 94 fully optioned, new tires, 6 speed and absolutely perfect interior, everything works and looks new with over 100K miles for $6,500. I'm not afraid of high miles on a well maintained car. This thing looks and drives like new;

Yea it was, I've had my dealer friends keeping an eye out for a clean C4 since I sold the C5, this one was traded in a couple weeks ago and I got the call. Figured why not, always liked the C4s. Like I said, this thing is spotless, I've never seen such a clean and unmolested C4. Everything stock, nothing changed except the exhaust, even have the original saw blades.
So this was a "trade in" that you bought for $6500? With over 100k imagine what the guy who traded it in got. Last fall during my car search I ran across a woman who had a 94 automatic with 130k. Pretty nice shape, 2nd owner etc but I was dead set on getting a 6 speed by that point. She told me that she had tried trading it in on a new Toyota Tacoma or something, I forget....................& the dealer offered her $2500 for her C4.

thanks..wouldnt take the 5k for sure. was offered 8k for it before bringing it up from florida..will most likely keep it untill i do trade up to a zr1. thanks for the numbers tho.
