You can't. A nice one is expensive. A beat up cheap one is not nice. Your best bet is to look on Ebay or the parts for sale section of this forum for a nice used one.

I found one thanks $600 on mid America motors and not to expensive is not more than $900

You do NOT want just any top. You want to make sure the top you're buying is either OEM/GM or that if it's been re-lensed that it was done by someone reliable. Melrose would be the preferred for a re-lens. If you're not buying local be prepared for receiving likely a damaged top from any shipper. Cover your bases and watch how you pay!

I got a remanufactured one from Zip Corvette last year. They send you an original frame with new a acrylic lens installed. You swap out the one you have and stick it in the box to send it back. They give you return labels. There is a $200.00 core charge but you get that back once you send yours in. The price is around $800.00 but you end up with an original frame and a newer, tougher acrylic top. Here is a link.

Do not buy an Astro top. They look nice enough and are fairly cheap. Cheap is the word. The front bow bends upward in the wind at highway speed and lets in rain etc. That gets pretty old when you are in a heavy rain storm. When I had that experience I just junked the Astro top and went back to the original, spider cracks and all. It worked much better.

after looking for 2yrs, stumbled on ad for Melrose factory seconds for $321 with shipping ..sent my top in and now have new bronze top for my 92.....after 2 months still can't find defect.....suspect its under trim...recommend you try to find out how frequently they have this sale.
