Default Rubber insert for cup holder

'90 coupe. Is there supposed to be a rubber liner in the cupholders? A judge at a recent show told me that this was missing. It was never in my car.

Yes. The nubby soda can condom can be purchased at Ecklers or Mid America.

Keep a close eye on it once you get it. They have a habit of staying stuck to the bottom of soda cans and making the trip to the garbage. That's probably how the original came up missing from the PO.

They are kind of silly! I have the original and it folds in on itself and you have to put it on the can like Goldcylon said. The one from Ecklers at least looks like the walls are straight.

I never liked them. They fold in on themselves and stick to the can/cup when you take it out. I have not used them in a long time.

I use it for holding coins. Vs. ratting around in the ashtray. I dont drink soda anymore so I guess that works for me

Be careful of what some "judges" tell you. One told me that there were no manual transmissions produced in the 1984-1993 C4's. Only automatics. So I told him that I think that only pertained to the "six cylinder" C4 models. He said he would have to check his sources as he walked away angrily to judge some other cars.

Mine did the same, and after trying to heat/shape it several times, I finally thought, "This is stupid". I threw it away. Cup holder works better w/o it.

I thought that is what the "coin dispenser" is for, in the console?

I learned (after the fact) that the judges at this particular show were members of the club hosting it. The guy who judged my car had a car in another class. He took first place in his class. What a shock!!!
