Default Good Week

DDing my '85 is really taking a toll on the old heap. I am starting to think that a 29 year old sport car is not the thing to be driving everyday. Things are continually breaking, luckily nothing that has prevented me from getting to work but just annoying that every week there is something else to deal with.

The good week starts with an 8 hr overtime paycheck, the first since before Christmas last year so I decided to take the extra dough and buy a new center LCD to replace the new one I broke forgetting about that devious little spring clip that holds it in place. I also bought a tach filter thanks to a great link found here but still have to replace that LCD as well as it is burned beyond repair (next week maybe). I am also going to change the oil this weekend.

Last weekend I replaced both window switches which were a lot more PITA than necessary. I reglued my console pad cover to make it nice looking again. I also spayed a big ding on the nose with Duplicolor and was very pleased with the match. All in all productive.

So, hows your week going??

My week is going Great!... There's an Awesome weekly Cars & Coffee meet that I'm going to and looking forward to shining up my Vette!...

Yeah, with these older Vettes, regular maintenance is very important.

Over the past 10 years, I've replaced the starter, battery, alternator, fuel injectors, radiator and hoses, thermostat, all ignition components, repaired intake manifold leak, R&R'd the AC system, flushed entire trans fluid twice, changed rear end fluid, replaced brake pads three times, replaced all rotors, replaced emergency brake handle, various electrical switches and of course regular full synthetic oil changes...

Just, fix things as they go out and do a lot of preventive maintenance and your Vette will love it!

And, I couldn't be more happier with my 143k mile daily driven 91 Vette!...

The PO spent $11K on my car but as far as I can figure it was all on cosmetics. New paint and interior which after 7 years still looks pretty good. If I ever get ahead on the mechanical I will be a happy camper! I still smile a lot when I drive it and I can get those Krispy Kremes home still hot. Fastest donuts in town!
