If You are in no hurry, I have a complete Dana 36 with 3:07 gears in my car right now. I plan on switching to a Dana 44 this winter. I already have the 44. The 36 has never been touched, it was put in the car at the factory, (85) It does have 110,000 miles on it.

This winter certainly works with my time frame. The 110k is a lot of miles though. I really do not know much about rear diffs, so let me do some research to see if the milage is a liability. Thank you so much for you response. If you can educate me on anything you know about rear diffs and their normal wear and tearm, by all means share with me. Thanks again

I'm still a month or two out from buying but am very interested if still available then. Is it a full rear end (caririer, bat wings, internals)? What did you replace it with? I hear the 3.07 is a fantastic improvement over the stock 2.59s. Thoughts?

Its in the car now I need to switch to a D44 but yes it will be center and batwing. Get with me when you are ready and I will remove it. Yes its much better than my old 259s but I realized I need a 342-373 with my LSx engine.

The 3:07 rear is the Perfect ratio for the L98 engine!...
Mileage and wear depend solely on driver use/abuse. If the vehicle was beat on or raced frequently, 100k is a lot of miles, if the vehicle was just cruised in daily, 100k is nothing to worry about...
I've had both the 3:07 and the 2:59 and the 3:07 felt really Zippy off the line!...Drive carefully in the rain though!...

I live in a gated community town home so do not have a driveway or garage to do the work. May be able to use my old mans but I do not pretend to know much about cranking wrenches. Would rather pay to make sure it is done right.

Find a set of Factory Service Manuals (FSM)... will explain step by step wrenching for you. The price alone will be saving yourself grief down the road... saving yourself needless and expensive hours at the dealership... who BTW no longer keep the manuals on hand.

I will definitely look into a FSM. Thanks. I feel the 3.07 will be just the mild mod I'm looking for in my daily driver. I'm wanting to keep the engine stock as it is very well maintained and runs strong. I'm thinking of replacing the resonator w an xpipe next and then being done w it.
