I have a '90 (gray interior) desperately in need of seat belt replacement. Can someone suggest a good site for replacements? And, by any chance, is there a thread that explains how to replace them yourself? I looked but couldn't find anything.
They aren't working at all. When I'm driving, the shoulder belt just gets loose and won't snap back. And passengers have told me their side has no snap, either. If I were to slam on the brakes, I'm pretty sure the belts would just keep going. I'm honestly afraid to drive in the car until I replace them.
These are all over Ebay new,the average price is about $150 a side. There was a G.M. recall campaign for the seat belts for this very reason, how G.M. got away with not continuing production for the seat belts is beyond me.Replacing these are pretty straight forward,as stated there is a Torqs bolt at the top anchor and the bottom anchor.

Any chance you have a link for what you saw on ebay? I'm not sure I'm seeing what you saw.
The shoulder and lap belts are on two separate spring loaded reels and lock under rapid deceleration (detected by a weighted pendulum mechanism which actuates a pawl-ratchet engagement). Could be your retracting springs are weak or broken but the locking mechanism still will work. The GM recall was for a locked-up belt which was the result of a completely broken system -or not.
if you don't care about being an all original car you can buy a set of universal seat belts with the round retractor and mount that to the anchor abobe the seat and the strap to where the retractor is now.
