Well...we don't know if this sale even closed. At least the paint appears to be original and in decent condition. I was scratching my head over the bidding war...
But...
All the seals are shot.
Didn't even try to clean the motor.
Driver seat is split.
I would say the car needs about $2000 to $2500 worth of parts and labor.

$2000 - $2500 in parts - it would have to be a labor of insanity! it's more like throwing good money after bad. I'm sorry, but that things worth 3-4 grand tops!
Wow....I bought my 1994 (same color) last summer for 11,000 with just 39,000 miles. I sometimes think I may have overpaid with all the little nit picky things I've had to replace.

We have seen worse horror stories posted from craigslist. From Corvettes painted crazy colors to having macaroni glued on and bull horns bolted on the front. I would say it's worth $4.5k tops.
I dont know, seems fishy to me or someone really stupid wanted this car. Either the seller has a shill going on or there is a key of coke the PO left tucked under the spare.
Maybe I should put my car on the 'bay. It oughta bring that and I would be very happy!
That car has new seats and at least been painted. There is over spray on the exhaust. Independent of the miles, its of course a better deal.
not tryin' to get into a pissin' contest, but how can you tell it has new seats, and it's been repainted from those photos? as far as the overspray on the exhaust, the auction states "cherry bomb" mufflers, which are painted red from the manufacturer. not sure how you can defend your statements from any of those photos, especially the photo showing the mufflers.
can't say 100% for sure if it's been or been not repainted, but if that thing has been repainted, I would think you would see signs of overspray on the lower rear quarter, especially the aluminum reinforcing brace, and the rivet heads.

That happens more often than people assume, I suspect..............& not just with cars or high dollar items. Also, a lot of car sales are never really consummated, if you will. I've personally known people (bidders) who have created new user ids just to bid on a car so that if they win then decide not to go through with it for whatever reason, they don't care about feedback left or anything. That is why you see a disproportionate number of zero & single digit users bid on car auctions. As the expression goes, been there done all that.

Yeah I looked at the photos later (without reading the ad in detail) after my previous post and realized it's not over spray. As far as the seats ...I don't really know ... just being skeptical.
Way too much, bought this 94 six speed with much fewer miles in mint condition for $6500. This is the cleanest C4 I've seen, owned about a month and still can't find anything to fix.

That price is way to much, and your looks awesome and the price sure was right.
Enjoy your new ride.
