Default Decision time

I ve been looking for a C-4 for weeks now. But finally I have narrowed my search down to an 85. I just had some quick questions. What exterior differences are there between the 85 and 96?? And I read once here on the board that someone changed the exterior parts on a 85 with 96 OEM parts. Is that possible and how much would the parts cost ?? I am thinking instead of spending the extra $$ on gettting a newer model I d just spend it on the engine and transmission I am thinking of getting. What yall think ??Thanx guys

There are plenty of after market kits to change the exterior of the car to a 91 to 96 look. It comes with a frton and rear clip and I think there is a lght kit for it too. Then you need body side mouldings to be color matched also.
You're probably looking at 2000 buck by the timed you get it all painted and done.

If I were you I pony up the extra dough and get the newer Vette if that is what you like. However the 85 is a hell of a car.

for the money spent on changing the looks i would buy a newer one. JMHO
otherwise throw it into the performance side of the car.

I too would put my $$ into performance mods rather than making it a faux 9X... :smash:
I have an 87 and happen to like the styling of it. But I also the newer models too. If you're really interested in a later model body style, Look on ebay. They have a bid going on for a 91 steel blue 6speed. Starting around 7100.00 I believe. Would be a great deal if you can scarf it up. Wish I had the expendable $$, I'd do it. :D :D

But to each their own bro... just my2cents :flag

Thanx guys for the replies guys. I am in no hurry, so I will take my time until I find the right car. I wanna build a fast car thats why I am trying to save my money for the performance mods. I think an 85 is perfect, so I ll keep you updated on what happens. Any thing I should look of for when shopping ??
