On the passenger's side there is one before the cat where the bend is on the top side of the pipe and one behind the cat on top of the pipe. There is a single sensor on the driver's side before the cat at the bend on the top side of the pipe.

Is this true for the '96, as well?
I replaced the upstream one on the passenger side, and am starting on the downstream one behind the cat (having to let some PB Blaster soak in for a day or so, first). I haven't jacked it up on the driver's side yet to determine whether there are two sensors.

'96 is OBD2 so you will have a total of 4 - 2 in each bank, 1 pre cat and 1 post cat each side. Left side post cat is about 8" beyond the coupling, mid- pipe to convertor.

Ah, that explains why I thought I only saw one on the driver's side; the post-cat one was further back than I looked (and likely hidden by the cross brace on my vert).
