I have a 1992 C-4 the cooling fans don't come on unless i turn on the AC. I replaced the coolant temp sensor on the front of the engine, is there something else I am missing? Thanks

what's hot?? depending on the year , most fans don't come on 228-238 degrees.....

It goes well past the center mark on the temp gauge approaching 250-260 range. as soon as I engage the AC the cooling fans come on dropping the temp back to the middle mark on the temp gauge.

There is a possibility your "normal". Use the digital readout to see if the fans come on (full speed) up around 235

Normal for these Vettes to run 'hot'. Digital display is most accurate, at 228 at least one fan should kick on. Did you jump the ALDL terminals A n B with ignition ON engine OFF? Both fans should come on, which is evidence that all circuits, relays, fuses, motors are functioning properly.

FYI, these cars were designed to run hot. I just run the ac all the time to keep the temps down. If both fans turn on while ac is on, all fuses, relays, and fan motors are fine. Primary fan turns on at 228, secondary at 236.
