So I came across an 86 vette for sale that needed a full resto and looked like a Malcolm konner edition. But when I looked for the "SPEC" paint code it wasn't there. The car was silver and black and the paint looked original. The owner had no knowledge of the Malcolm konner editions, I looked in my corvette black book and found something interesting. Let me know what you guys think
These are the codes under the back lid. Seem original to me when I decode the color combo it comes back as silver/black. So would this car be 1/1 factory produced non Malcolm konner edition?

all 50 VIN's would be interesting, but note, he is looking at this as being the 51st vehicle of that series
3300$ but needed full resto non running since 1999 I didn't even make an offer I didn'twant to insult him. 1000-1500$ is all I would have paid. Car was rough lots of rust in the gas tank etc. Paint chipping, engine missing hoses, cracked windshield, you get the idea.

I would think that you did the right thing. You would be happier spending your money on something that is in better shape. Trouble is when the Vette bug bites, one gets kind of emotional and may not make the right decision. I have had the Vette bug bite for over 40 years and finally at the age of 67 I acquired one. I found a 1 owner and it is clean. I still have things mechanical to do but nothing major such as painting, replacing windshields and bad gas in the tank. Believe it or not, cleaning the tank is a real pain regardless of which kind of car you buy. Needless to say, I have done a bunch of them. Good luck in your search.
