Opti Spark replace ???

Default Opti Spark replace ???

I have a'93 base coupe. The service engine came on and it revealed a code 36. Using the FSM I did the check at the ignition test connector and received a reading of over 4 volts but less than 6. It is impossible for my fat hands to reach the connector on the top of the opti to do the final test. Is it safe to assume, and we know what that means, that I need to replace the opti?

yea... one more dead horse...

ok... whenever the opti spits out a code, it's a bad thing. Contrary to popular urban legend, nothing else will cause the opti to throw a code.

How many miles and what type of climate?

The reason it lasted 120K is your down in FLA. You don't have the hi humid climate like up north here up here it be 40deg and change 60deg. If you not driving your C4 then all that moisture gets inside of the Opti.

My opti went out in in 2007. I replaced it with a MSD unit and have had no
problems since. Even after washing the engine.

The opti on my LT4 went out in 2013 at 109k miles. That was the third one and I live in So CAl. I sold the car.
