Hey what up corvette people I have a 1988 with the 4+3. When you put it in overdrive should you feel some kind of drop in rpm or feel something?

Definitely, a significant drop. Also the OD light on the dash should come on. Unless it's been modified, OD should turn on by default when the temp is above 120F.

I have an 88 also and you will feel a slight shift when it goes into overdrive . I think you have to be above, I believe 35mph for it to automatically shift and you will see the difference in your tach. At least that's what mine does.

Hey what up corvette people?........ Sounds like you have a bad relay if you don't feel it going into overdrive.

It really depends on what the person who converted it to carb did. The ECM controls the OD, so if they just yanked all the electronics then it's not going to work. You can always make it manual with a switch to activate the OD solenoid.
