Default Rear speaker amplifiers

I have a loud noise, like loud bass coming from my rear speaker on one side. It has been suggested that I have a bad speaker amplifier. Does this sound right? Also, to get to the amplifiers on the rear speaker, do you have to pull the carpet and take the entire speaker box, or is there a way to get to the amplifier without doing that. I notice 4 screws on the frame holding the speaker in the box, do they come out to allow access to the amps? Thanks for any assistance. My vette is a 95 with the delco/bose gold system.

The screws you see hold on the cover. There are 4-6 more that hold the speaker in. It isn't that big of a job to remove the speaker. There is a post on here on how to repair the amp. Or you can contact Dr Don.
