rear view mirror light

On my 86 convertible the light comes on if I use the switch just wondering if it should come on when I open the doors thanks

The service manual shows one map light but I believe there are two under the mirror.

They both turn on if the switch is on and the ignition switch is on.

The console illumination bulb only works when the headlight switch is in park or head and is controlled by the dimmer switch.
