Default Lowered and found a problem

On the left side, someone put in a 1 inch spacer to take up for the bushing that was mangled.

Can you buy a bushing for it or can you get a new set of four for the rear spring?

By the way it looks sweet lowered

Sweet I get to answer my own post

I founsd them, they are called rear spring cusions. They are sold in a set of four. You can get them OEM or Energy Suspensions.

Handled :smash:

How hard is it to lower? Mind laying a little FAQ on us? I love the slightly lowered look that some cars have... say an inch in the front, 2 in the rear...

The driver-side-rear, all things being equal, will sit lower. Was it on that side? Maybe they were trying to even out the ride height without making the rear spring rate different from side to side.

The front can be difficult. The spring has to come out. Some just take out the shims in the front=about1/4". I also removed the rubber spacer and put the MAD hard plastic spacer in=about 3/4"
The back is easy. Just change the bolts to longer ones. I adjusted mine back down about 1 3/4" with a full tank of gas for the level look.

The front was already lowered. But lowering the back is a piece of cake.

Either buy the kit from MAD or buy 2 10 inch 1/2 bolts with 2 nyloc nuts (the ones with the nylon at the crown of the bolt)

I think Chevy used 9/16 bolts but I could not find them anywhere. I thought of drilling out the washers for 5/8 bolts but the 1/2 is strong enough for a 340-380 lb spring.

Jack the car up at the punkin. Needless to say remove the tire on the side you're doing. Then I put a jack stand under the spring near the bolt at the end of the spring. Lower the car to where the bolt is loose. Pull the cotter pin out and yank out the old one. Put in the new one and reverse the procedures.

I might get flamed on the 1/2 inch bolt deal but I'm sure they are plenty strong to hod the spring.

Handling was greatly improved. But power slides are a little hard to come by now :D

Well I guess I'll find out quickly what you guys think of my engineering.

By the way the whole kit ran $5.00 for the rear.
