My VATS failed last year with a No crank and security light on, reason was
broken ignition lock cylinder wire inside the steering column very common problem.
mine is a 90 coup L98. worked as a GM tech from 81 to 02 worked on lots of vats issues 90 91 were most reliable with CCM intergrated VATS.
My car has 279000 on it.improperly installed after market stuff and improper wiring repairs are VATS systems worst enemy.
