So the right side mirror on my 85 is cracked. It was cracked when I bought it. Not only is it cracked, but the mirror glass is loose and it doesn't stay inside the mirror housing, it flops around when driving, because its only held on by some wires and stuff.

In order to fix this, would I have to buy a whole new inside part of the mirror? I would like to just buy the glass, but is that even possible, and I don't think it would stay in place, it would flop around like the old one.

So would I have to replace the whole inside of the mirror to fix this? I'm not really sure what to do. Here is a few pics.

Ouch! Looks like the housing is damaged as well, and just replacing the mirror you may still find it rubs the upper left side.

First order is to put your fingers behind the mirror and pop it free from the trunion so you can determine status of the assy.

You can likely get a good used mirror from a vendor like Vette2Vette. If you need more of the assy he can likely supply that too and for a decent price.

The mirror is held in place by a little piece called a trunnion. I can see it in the picture and it looks intact, so it's just a matter of popping it back into place. It fits into two U-shaped parts. It's pretty tight, so it takes some heavy pressure. This is the guy:

I have heard that '80s Camaros (and probably Firebirds too) used the same mirrors, so you might be able to find a junkyard replacement.
