Default Comment on Ecklers

I bought the WRONG item from Ecklers. My bad. Guess we had to package it back up and send it to them again.

A few days after, I got a call from Ecklers. Basically went like this. "We have your checkbook. Do you want it back? If so we will mail it back.". I said "Please do" thinking they would drop it in an envelope and that would be the end of the story. I mean, it is the cheapest although it would be the riskiest. I hardly use the checkbook anymore since most of my transactions are done electronically.

I got a text from FedEx, my preferred carrier over UPS. As far as I am concerned, USPS is not even fit to lick the dog poo from FedEx or UPS shoes. Text said something about a shipment from FL. WTF? I haven't bought anything. Oh well.

This afternoon, I finally got the package I didn't know of. Guess what. Ecklers sent me my checkbook FedEx. This was all done

AT THEIR EXPENSE

Just another satisfied customer. I will remember this next time I need a Vette part and look at them first.

Sure. Anything for a CF member. It will be sent USPS so not sure if and when it gets there.

This case I had with USPS is crazy. Bought a book off someone on Ebay. They sent it and had the receipt. 3 weeks later, no book. Emailed them and they sent me a refund a couple days later. 4th week, guess what. Book showed up. WTF!! Now I have to give a refund of my refund. I have had people ship stuff to me USPS over the years. Most times it gets through. Once in a while, something goes wrong. FedEx issue is not even 10% of USPS. Tracking is difficult and slow with USPS. I wish they would go out of business except that we will end up footing the bill.

I have had enough trouble with USPS that I flat out refuse to ship anything with them unless the buyer specifies that they want USPS. If they do, I will email a pic of the receipt and let them struggle with it should the package get lost.

Default Customer Service

IMO Customer Service is one the main things that can make or break a company or product. Even if it didn't happen to you, people will tell their good and/or bad experiences.
I've bought from Eckler's before, never had a story like yours though. I also have them as one of the companies at the top of my list when ordering online.
Glad your dilemma worked out for you. Thanks for sharing.

I have experienced very good service from Corvette Central, Eckers and Corvette America.
I have experienced the same problems with USPS. With FEDEX and UPS you can track your part from door to door.,

Always a pleasure to read a "happy ending" story.

I share if it is good and if it is bad. Most share only if it is bad which is not fair to the good ones.

Off topic but since you are in MN, you ever get to Hitech motorsport in Elk River?

Now don't get offended but you mailed your check book ? Lol I have done and continue to do lame brain stuff so reading this made me feel a bit less lonely. I drove away from a gas pump with my wallet on the roof of my truck. About an hour later a cop called me on my cell phone. He asked where I was and told me he had my wallet. I was shocked and extremely grateful. He must have the ability to get a person's phone number without too much difficulty otherwise how did he call me ? My number wasn't in my wallet. Ecklers and Corvette Central have both sold me a couple thousand dollars of stuff over the years or close to it. Good customer service all the way around.

I have no idea. All I know is I got the call from Ecklers the other day and today I got my checkbook. I know I sent back the wrong item but not a clue how the checkbook got in there although I suspect it was one of the dogs that did it.

When I was in sales, which was over 30 years I found out that 1 satisfied customer will tell 3 friends with his sucess. 1 unhappy customer will tell 10 of his friends. I think you should be commended for sharing your successful story with others on this thread along with your vendor. In todays world it seems that no one wants to accept responsibility if things go wrong but are quick to jump in when things go right. Sir, I give you my respect!

Maybe you shouldn't be praising Eckler's yet...Maybe you should wait to see how your bank account balance looks at the end of the month.........WW

PS...I retired from UPS with 27 years service, so I know all about UPS , I ship all my boxes with USPS now...The box I shipped last week cost $16.20 USPS , UPS wanted $20.60....

Well, since we are already "off topic", I'll just share one piece of info about Corvette Central. I ordered a part on 7/16/14 that is in stock and ready to ship. The ship date is 7/25/14. If it is in stock and ready to ship why does it take 9 takes to box it?????? This is the first time I've ordered from them.

No I haven't yet, but you never know. Right now I'm still doing the little things to finish off the aggravating things on my car first.
