Code question....
I also pulled the codes on it--
I get a H41 in Mod 1 "loss of data communications" Could this be when I replaced the battery a few months ago?
I also get a H72 in Mod 9 "radio head replaced"...It was also removed a few months ago.
These two codes make sense to me.
Now my question-Why no code indicating a starter problem?
This a a GREAT site...and the information provided has been GREAT!!!!
THANKS
Sounds like the solenoid is going South. The whir that you hear is the starter rotating. The solenoid should energize and throw the gear on the starter forward to engage with the flywheel which at times it is not. Hence the click and whir. You might be able to just replace the solenoid. Still means that you have to remove the starter.
Erase the codes. The "H" indicates a HISTORIC...or past history occurrence.
Thats about what I thought. I bought a new starter..I am going to get the old one rebuilt for my wifes' 94.
After seeing all the items that are "watched" by the various computers, I thought that I might have missed something when a starter code didn't show up!
