Default Spark plug replacement

My 92 LT1 needs new plugs. It has 108,000 miles on the engine with the original plugs and wires. Any problems pulling plugs that have been in place that long .. thanks

The technique that I use now for aluminum heads that I both read about and saw on TV (Motorweek) is to start to carefully loosen each plug (about an eighth of a turn) then start and rev the motor. This removes the carbon buildup which may damage the aluminum threads in the head when taking out the plugs. Also as the article says if you feel that the plug is binding up turn it back in a little and then loosen it a little at a time until it is out.

Here's a link to the video and article -

I have used this method a few times with no problem.

I know this may sound obvious, but I'll add it anyway, make sure you put a bit of anti-sieze on the new plug threads...

Just talked to a local mechanic I trust that will do the plugs and wires for around $200. He's got the job !! He's done work on many Vettes and is familiar with their Aluminum heads and the required precautions. Thanks for your inputs. AT 71 I just don't like doing the tough jobs on Vettes anymore ..have in the past but just prefer normal maintenance , oil change , brakes, the easy stuff . (LOL)
