Guys I seen this B and M shifter on a 92 with a stock interior at Carlisle today. The mechanic that installed it was not around at the time. Has anyone done this before? If so any tips and tricks? I like the look and might try this. It appears to be a B and M hammer shifter.

There are some really old pics floating around of a b&m ratchet shifter in a C4, but it's an older L98 C4. There are a couple of threads about guys working on getting a B&M Megashifter to work, but it's not really a direct fit. Those things stick up really high, which is kind of cool because the shifter sticks up close to the steering wheel, like a rally car. Basically the base of those things would have to almost sit on top of the console unless you somehow get some of it to fit down inside.
In the pics you posted, it looks like the guy somehow put a B&M megashifter-style T handle on the stock shifter.

Thanks for the reply psycho. I have the transmission completely out of the car right now and I will do a little more research and try something.
I agree with psycho, that looks like the stock shifter with the B&M handle modded to fit. The car most likely has no lockouts on the shifter now. I am still working on the megashifter I put in my '85. Getting the shifter in & working was no big deal but in order to use the B&M indicator I had to mount it on the passenger side of the shifter. That did not suit me at all so I made a spacer out of aluminum stock that raised the shift boot & the indicator up about 3/4 inch. This works great but looks like s**t. I have just received a Lokar kit that has the indicator built right into the ring that goes around the boot but it has it's little issues too. If I can get something worked out I will post pics here to go along with my post I made a few weeks ago that covered the install with pics, you can find that post by going back a couple pages or use the search.
