So i am removing my 350 engine from my 88 Vette and i was wondering what i should do with the transmission. Would it be the easiest to just take it all the way off or just disconnect it from the engine?

If it was my wife's C3, I'd take the two out intact and regulate the hood later. But, the C4 has the C-beam to contend with, so I've always pulled the transmission off before hoisting the engine on both of my C4s (past and present).
One PIA you can avoid by removing the transmission is removing and re-aligning the hood...Talk about your PIAs!! The hood stays put w/o the trans attached. That would be my suggestion, FWIW.
Lee (aka LGAFF) giving me a hand with my first LT5 "yank". Two more since then were "easy" enough for one person (me) to handle, once the "trail" had been blazed.
Your (and others) mileage may vary...

When I replaced my stock L98 with a 383 motor, I just unbolted the motor from the trans and pulled it out, leaving the trans where it was.. ...I had the old motor out, and the new motor in within an hour, that was just pulling and replacing the motor, and "not" including unhooking and hooking everything back up.. You also don't have to remove the radiator which saves time....WW
