1984:
The 4th Generation (C4) 1984 model (actually introduced in March 1983) was all new except for the driveline. The new body, interior, chassis, 4+3 manual transmission, disc brakes, etc, earned the new 4th generation Corvette high praise from automotive journalists worldwide.
1985:
The new L98 engine increased horsepower from 205 to 230 plus a gain in fuel enconomy due in part to new Bosch fuel injection with tuned runners. The rub strip on the front fenders now says "Tuned Port Injection" rather than "Cross Fire Injection like the '84.
In addition the ride was softened up some on Z51 cars and softened up alot on nonZ51. The rear Z51 wheel on 84 was 9.5" wide and 8.5" in front.
85 Z51 had 9.5" all around.
probably some changes in the digidash
84=All D36 rear axles
85=manual had D44, automatic had D36

My '84 has 17x11 (from an '87-'89) all around to keep me on the ground :D. It doesn't have too much power, between 260hp and 300hp (never dyno tested, but will go 170mph).
