No, do not pump the pedal. To gravity bleed just keep fluid in the reservoir and open the bleeder screw on the caliper you want to bleed. It also is a good idea to put a hose on the end of the bleeder screw and let hose drain into a pan or bottle. If bleeding the entire system start with the caliper farthest from the reservoir and work toward the one closest to the reservoir.
Let the caliper drain until the fluid becomes clear like the new fluid and no bubbles. It will take time to bleed the entire system but gravity bleeding is the best way to bleed/flush the system.
