1993 Greenwood Value?
So here are the details. A friend of mine inherited this Vette. They have decided not to keep it. But the problem is they don't know the value of it. So whether you are interested in it yourself or not, if you have any info/pointers/etc, or a good idea of what you think it is worth, reply back and let me know. I'd like to educate him as much as I can, but I don't know a lot about these...
1993 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible
68,188 miles
ZR1 Style 20 Spoke wheels
Brand new 40th Anniversary seat covers
Also includes brand new black door panels, never installed.
And of course, the Greenwood Package - not sure the extent. I know the rear spoiler is genuine Greenwood. I've seen it in person, and it does have Greenwood molded into the rear wing. and it is the 3-footed wing. So that's not a copy. I assume the rest is true Greenwood too. How would I be able to tell if it had additional Greenwood upgrades like suspension, etc...
From his limited online search of comparable models, he thinks it should be worth about $17k. I don't know. Is that high, low, or about right?
Here are some pics of it. Sorry they are not higher resolution. They were sent to me through text messages...

In the end, it is only worth what someone is willing to give him for it.

So I guess you are saying that it's not worth that? Does the Greenwood stuff add any value to the vette over just a standard 1993 40th Anniversary Convertible?

All 1993 Corvettes with leather seats got the 40th anniversary emblem on the seat.
The Anniversary cars were all Ruby Red with matching interior.
The Ruby is more maroon looking than the Torch Red car in your pictures.
And no, the Greenwood stuff doesn't add any value really.
If the car was an extremely low mileage (under 5,000) garage queen it might.

I'd say if he finds the right buyer he'd be doing well to get $10k. $17k isn't going to happen.

I don't think that is a full Greenwood car. No hood vents, I don't think it's turbo charged although there is no pic of engine. At t he end of the day it's a base coupe with the aero kit installed. In some circles that lowers it's value. It's worth whatever some one is willing to pay.

The black interior is aftermarket... both seats and panels. If it had original color interior would be torch red throughout - including the seats. GM hadn't considered two tone interior at the time (outside the console). Did the same (using OEM parts) combination on an all tan interior - adding black panels and seats.
The car is 10K...

I have to agree that if someone offered $17K, take it and run.
Quite frankly it looks like a mismatch to me and would not be a top one on my list to look at.
If I was looking for a ride and looked at that one, between being an automatic, the mismatch of visible items etc, I wouldn't go higher than about $8500 tops.
IMHO the Greenwood kit actually decreases the value and desirability of the car, so unless someone really 'wants' a Vette with one, it's going to take value away from the car and become a gimme.
Sorry to me it's neither unique or collectable as presented. It's a driver only.

I agree with your pricing assessment.

personally i think the greenwood treatment ruins the scale of the C4 looks wise. i think it makes it look fat and squat....
somepeople like it i know, but i'm not a fan...
as someone told me: if you don't like the look of the greenwood addons, don't buy the car, it's a hassle to undo the work....

I think most people would agree with you. Not just worth less, but worthless.....but there are some that really like it.....I'd say $7500-$8000 just because its clean and low mileage. That kit was big in the 90's

Put me in the group that believes that Greenwood packages lower the price of a vehicle compared with an undisturbed vehicle with everything else being equal. As cars get close to "classic" status, people tend to like stock cars. They are likely to want to have their cars judged by the NCRS. Personally, I would never consider a Corvette with this types of bodywork add-ons.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I knew there was a Love/Hate attitude towards the Greenwood vettes. And all of your replies confirm that. I'll pass the info along to him.
But if you happen to know someone that DOES like the Greenwood Aero look, let me know, and I'll get you my friend's info.
