Default 85 seats

finished the engine, getting it painted/ put new carpet/ws in saddle interior...put new foam in seats but they still look crappy.....can I not just get two new seats and bolt them in?....maybe i'm confused, ecklers and the others sell "mounted covers"..is that the whole thing?... I'd rather have some decent leather not that perferated crap.........can anyone reccommend where to get two decent looking seats? for my 85 thanks..

there are several options for replacement seats - leather, both perforated and non-perforated, and either mounted on new foam or just the covers. new leather with new foam is pretty much the plug & play option, that you used with your existing seat frames. expect to spend somewhere between $1000 and $1100 for the seat/foam assemblies. just the covers will save you several hundred dollars, but unless you can mount the covers yourself, you'll have a labor charge. either way, the price may work out to be the same. you can also get leather-like, again mounted and un-mounted, and costs go down accordingly. just about any corvette supply house has the replacement seat covers with the various options. corvette America seems to be one of the major suppliers of replacement seats and covers. I do not know anyone that sells the complete seat, including the frame assemblies that one would just bolt in place.
