Is it possible to convert the power windows on a 91 to "express down" windows?
By "possible", I mean relatively easily and relatively inexpensively. I know everything is possible if you're willing to pay enough. I'm looking for something like "just change a relay" or some such thing.

I can't imagine it being easy OR inexpensive. I don't recall when GM started "express down" but it requires considerable exchanges between body control modules, switches etc. I've had express down for years on some of my cars and I don't know that it's something that I even use frequently. I can recall getting pi$$ed at times because the 'express down" function activated.
I have.. I had a 89 with a 91 dash and i had the express down on the drivers side. I bought an OEM module from a C4, found the wiring int he 96 shop manual and added it to my drivers window. I now had express down.. currently I have 2 modules in my toolbox as i want to do BOTh windows but I also have an aftermarket module to do express up and down.. the aftermarket module is a little more wiring intensive and I am thinking that I might just do the OEM as each module wires in the door and all I need is the pigtailed harness for the module (which I also have)
So if using the OEM parts I think it is 5 or six wires and you are done. I know all the circuits you tap into are readily available on the drivers door, not quite sure on the passenger side
It does appear to be very easily accomplished with just the "module" from a '94+ and some minor rewiring. It's a module that uses a 5 pin connector that's quite readily available. The module isn't available in anything other than a salvage from a car I'd think. In a car with the module, the module is center of dash behind the DIC.
A FSM from '94 or newer would do the wiring schematic.
Other GM's and later Corvette applications I'm quite sure relied on the BCM to control so that the function could be activated or "turned off" in some personalization.

Yes I believe the later Corvettes and cars use a Door Module to control everything
Cool thread and good idea. I'd like to add express down to my '92 as well. Always figured when I got around to it, I'd buy the parts for the '94^ and see if I could make it work. I guess it can, which is great to hear.
