I would like to install XMRadio in my 1989 Roaster. I have spoken to installers, and they all say it can't be done yet. I spoke to antenna Company and they haven't made a antenna yet. The glass antenna is not recommended for the corvette. If any of you have XMRadio please let me know how they installed the antenna on a Roaster. The gas lid is also not recommended cause it's not gounded properly, and the plane isn't large enough for the antenna to pick up the signal.
check over on the c5-general section or the audio section. there are several forum members that have installed xm radio (and i think at least 1 sirius system) in their c5's coupes and convertibles. they haven't said anything about any problems with antennas. everyone seems to be happy with the quality of reception and the service. i plan on installing xm in my c5 coupe as soon as i can get the $50 off coupon from xm. hope this helps -

Re: XMRadio (STREETKNIGHT)
Isn't that the Play per view radio? Why?
In some, well most places radio just plain out sucks. It's only 10 bucks a month, you get a hundred stations. Some stations have no commercials, the others have very little in commercials.......The nice thing is the reception, you hardly lose it unless you go into a deep tunnel. And you can listen to the same station if you're driving from Phoenix or Atlanta
I'm the person wanting to get idea's of how to install it in my C4 Roaster. I already have it in my other cars. I love it. I can't stand lately listening to plain radio. The sound is crisp and clear. The music is great, a few friends already put them into there family car. I live with know big building in the area to block the signal. Don't know what it would like with tall building. I know they use land signals along with satellite. I can tell you there is all kinds of channels to pick from, some of the commercials are way back when I was a kid, and a pleasure to listen to again. You decide, I did. I thought you like to hear from somebody that has it for months in the car. This might sound stupid but I don't mind being stuck in traffic anymore. :chevy :chevy
I work a part time job at Best Buy and asked one of the installers if he had done this and he said he had. Didn't have time to get details, but if there is a Best around you, you might want to check with them.
