Just replaced window switches in console on my 1987 C4. while i have it apart i need to install new mirror joystick control for adjusting mirrors.
I have consulted my factory manual .. and see there is a side panel behind consple carpet but it appears to be a whole side wall to tbe console bottom half. it looks like in the diagram that there is a top piece that has three screws in it.. that will lift up amd maybe give me acess to replace the mirror joystick.. does anyone know if this is correct or has anyone ever done this repair.. thanks for any help.. Gary

I appreciate the reply.. naw it is very enclosed around the joystick by the console bottom frame. I thought about cutting a small access hole but do not want to change it from stock. It appears that if i remove the seat and carpeting covering the side console panel which is held in by three screws.
I can then reach under and remove the joystick.. while i am there i have a brand new c68 climate control assembly to put in.. then reasemmble... it is raining here today so no road time today,, thanks, gary

I did the one in my 89 it was in the center console. had to take out the.
trim where the switches are and then you can get your fingers in behind or a screwdriver . There is a ushaped spring clip that holds the mirror switc h in which with screwdriver you pop out and then you can pull the switch out, for an 89 anyways.
